Encouragement Tidbit: “Become a Possibilitarian”

Last month Kev e-mailed me a request not to pray for him, but to pray with him regarding something he needed an immediate manifestation of.  Honestly?  I was both surprised and pleased by his request.  Why?

Well, I was surprised about the request because I’ve had many people indirectly request that I pray for them.  I’ve had a few people directly request that I pray for them.  But rarely do I have people asking me to pray with them.  I’ve certainly never had someone ask me to pray with them over the Internet.

I was pleased with the request because of the opportunity to pray with a fellow writer.  You see Kev, as I like to call him, Kevin Johnson, aka Kevin6X, is not only a writer, he’s a published author.  His very poignant story about the psychological battles he’s had to fight over the years, and is still fighting, as a young Black man can be read about in his newly released autobiography: PSYCHOLOGICAL WAR: The Battles of a Young BlackMan.  (Visit his website at www.kevin6x.com for more information.)

I was also pleased to pray with Kev because in spite of the battle wounds he’s received in a very taxing war he is still a proud, cardholding member of the “Possibilitarian” Club.  I am a proud member of this club as well.

Who are we?  We are the war weary warriors, male and female, who boldly and unapologetically believe in Jesus’ words that:

  1. “with God all things are possible”  (Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27) and
  2. “all things are possible to him that believeth”  (Mark 9:23

On behalf of this esteemed, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, non-denominational group of believers in possibilities, disbelievers in impossibilities, I extend to you the following invitation and words of encouragement:

“Become a possibilitarian.  No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities.  Always see them, for they’re always there.”  — Norman Vincent Peale
