Encouragement Tidbit: Real Beauty, Part III

Do not judge a book by its cover. Appearances can be deceptive. What’s on the inside is what counts. We’ve all heard or said these cautionary statements before.  If they are true how then do we identify real beauty?  How do we ascertain that a person is as authentically beautiful on the inside as they appear to be, as they act or as they are physically?

After all, some people who are ugly as hell on the inside can excellently fake internal beauty particularly if they are beautiful on the outside.  So pretty is as pretty does can be all a pretty pretense.  It could be no indication whatsoever of the quality and depth of real beauty in the heart and mind of an individual.  Then what?

Well, be encouraged and consider what Elizabeth Kubler Ross had to say about real beauty:

“The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.  These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern [or real beauty].  Beautiful people do not just happen.”
