Healing, Deliverance, and Triumph

  1. Luke 18:39And they which went before rebuked him [the blind man], that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.  40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee?  And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.  42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.  43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
  2. Matthew 8:14And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.  15And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
  3. Matthew 8:1When he [Jesus] was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.  3And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean.  And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
  4. Matthew 9:27And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.  28And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?  They said unto him, Yea, Lord.  29Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.  30And their eyes were opened …

Luke 7:1Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.  2And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.  3And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.  4And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: 5[f]or he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.  6Then Jesus went with them.  And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:  7Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.  8For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.  9When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.  10And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick. 
  6. Exodus 16:1And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.  2And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: 3[a]nd the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.  4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.  5And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.  6And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: 7[a]nd in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that [H]e heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?  8And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against [H]im: and what are we?  [Y]our murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.  9And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for [H]e hath heard your murmurings.  13And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.  14And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.  15And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was.  And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.  16This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.  17And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.  18And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.  19And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.  20Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.  21And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.  31And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.  35And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
  7. Joshua 6:1Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.  2And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.  3And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once.  Thus shalt thou do six days.  4And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.  5And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.  6And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.  7And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.  8And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.  9And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.  10And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.  11So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.  12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.  13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.  14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.  15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.  16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.  17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.  18And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.  19But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.  20So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.  21And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.  22But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.  23And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.  24And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.  25And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
  8. I Kings 17:8And the word of the LORD came unto him [Elijah], saying, 9[a]rise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.  10So he arose and went to Zarephath.  And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.  11And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.  12And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 13And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.  14For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.  15And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.  16And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
  9. Daniel 3:19Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.  20And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.  21Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.  22Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  23And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.  24Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?  They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.  25He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.  26Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither.  Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.  27And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.  28Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent [H]is angel, and delivered [H]is servants that trusted in [H]im, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.  29Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.  30Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
  10. Matthew 9:18While he [Jesus] spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 23And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24[h]e said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth.  And they laughed him to scorn.  25But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
  11. Luke 17:12And as he [Jesus] entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13[a]nd they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.  14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests.  And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.  15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16[a]nd fell down on his face at his [Jesus’] feet, giving [H]im [God] thanks: and he was a Samaritan.  19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
  12. Luke 9:38And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.  39And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.  40And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.  41And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you?  Bring thy son hither.  42And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him.  And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
  13. Matthew 9:32As they [Jesus and the disciples] went out, behold, they [the multitudes] brought to him [Jesus] a dumb man possessed with a devil.  33And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
  14. Matthew 12:22Then was brought unto him [Jesus] one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
  15. Matthew 14:34And when they [the disciples and Jesus] were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.  35And when the men of that place had knowledge of him [Jesus], they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; 36[a]nd besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
  16. Mark 3:3And he [Jesus] saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth….  5And … he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand.  And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
  17. Matthew 15:22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him [Jesus], saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.  23But he answered her not a word.  And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.  24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.  26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.  27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.  28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.  And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
  18. Mark 2:9Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?  10But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.  12And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
  19. Matthew 17:14And when they [Jesus and the disciples] were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.  16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.  17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?  [H]ow long shall I suffer you?  [B]ring him hither to me.  18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
  20. Mark 5:1And they [Jesus and the disciples] came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.  6But when he [the demon possessed man] saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God?  I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.  8For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
  21. Matthew 20:30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.  32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?  33They said unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.  34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
  22. Mark 5:22And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him [Jesus], he fell at his feet, 23[a]nd besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.  35While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?  36As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.  37And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.  38And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.  39And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep?  [T]he damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.  40And they laughed him to scorn.  But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.  41And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.  42And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
  23. John 5:5And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.  8Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.  9And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked …
  24. Mark 5:25And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26[a]nd had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27[w]hen she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.  28For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.  29And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.  33But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.  34And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
  25. John 9:1And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.  2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?  3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.  6When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7[a]nd said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.)  He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
  26. Mark 6:35And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:  36[s]end them [the multitudes, the crowds] away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.  37He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat.  And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?  38He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye?  [G]o and see.  And when they knew, they say, Five and two fishes.  39And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.  40And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.  41And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.  42And they did all eat, and were filled.  43And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.  44And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
  27. Matthew 9:2And, behold, they [the crow, multitude] brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.  5For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?  6But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.  7And he arose, and departed to his house.
  28. John 11:1Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.  2(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)  3Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.  4When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.  5Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.  6When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.  7Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.  11These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.  12Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.  13Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.  14Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.  15And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.  20Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.  21Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.  22But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.  23Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.  24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.  25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?  32Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.  33When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.  34And said, Where have ye laid him?  They said unto him, Lord, come and see.  35Jesus wept.  38Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave.  It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.  39Jesus said, Take ye away the stone.  Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.  40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?  41Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid.  And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.  42And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.  43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.  44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
  29. Luke 8:41And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42[f]or he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.  But as he went the people thronged him.  49While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.  50But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.  51And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.  52And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.  53And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.  54And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.  55And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.  56And her parents were astonished …

Mark 7:25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him [Jesus], and came and fell at his feet: 26[t]he woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.  27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.  28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.  29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.  30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
  31. Luke 7:2And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.  3And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.  6Then Jesus went with them.  And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: 7[w]herefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.  8For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.  9When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.  10And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
  32. Mark 7:33And he [Jesus] took him [the deaf-mute] aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34[a]nd looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.  35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
  33. Mark 8:1In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, 2I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: 3[a]nd if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.  4And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?  5And he asked them, How many loaves have ye?  And they said, Seven.  6And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.  7And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.  8So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.  9And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
  34. Judges 15:10And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us?  And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.  11Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us?  [W]hat is this that thou hast done unto us?  And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.  12And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines.  And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.  13And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee.  And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.  14And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.  15And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.

Mark 8:22And he [Jesus] cometh to Bethsaida; and they [the crowd] brought a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.  23And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.  24And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.  25After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
  36. Luke 5:18And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him [Jesus].  19And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.  20And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.  23Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?  24But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.  25And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

Mark 9:17And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 18[a]nd wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.  19He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you?  [H]ow long shall I suffer you?  [B]ring him unto me.  20And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.  21And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him?  And he said, Of a child.  22And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.  23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.  24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.  25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.  26And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.  27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
  38. I Samuel 17:4And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.  5And he had a helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.  6And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.  7And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.  8And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array?  [A]m not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul?  [C]hoose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.  9If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.  10And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.  11When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.  12Now David was the son of … Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.  13And the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed Saul to the battle …  14And David was the youngest …  15But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Bethlehem.  16And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.  17And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp of thy brethren; 18[a]nd carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.  19Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.  20And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.  21For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army.  22And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren.  23And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them.  24And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.  32And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.  33And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.  34And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35[a]nd I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.  36Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.  37David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, [H]e will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.  And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.  38And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put a helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.  39And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it.  And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.  40And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.  41And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.  42And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.  43And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?  And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.  44And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.  45Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.  46This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  47And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and [H]e will give you into our hands.  48And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.  49And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.  50So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.  51Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.  52And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines …  And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way …  53And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents.
  39. Mark 10:46And they came to Jericho: and as he  [Jesus] went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.  47And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.  49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.  And they called the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.  51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?  The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.  52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
  40. John 4:49The nobleman saith unto him [Jesus], Sir, come down here my child die.  50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth.  And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.  51And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
  41. Luke 5:12And it came to pass, when he [Jesus] was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.  13And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean.  And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
  42. Job 1:1There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.  2And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. 6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.  13And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: 14[a]nd there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: 15[a]nd the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  16While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  17While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  18While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: 19[a]nd, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  2:7So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote     Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. 2:13[Job’s] grief was very great. 4:1Then Job … said [to God] 4:2I know that [T]hou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from [T]hee.  4:3Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?  [T]herefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.  4:4Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of [T]hee, and declare [T]hou unto me.  4:5I have heard of [T]hee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth [T]hee.  4:10And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.  4:11Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.  4:12So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.  4:13He had also seven sons and three daughters.  4:14And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.  4:16After this lived Job a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.  4:17So Job died, being old and full of days.
  43. I Samuel 1:1Now there was a certain man … 2[a]nd he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.  3And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh.  And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.  4And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions: 5[b]ut unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.  6And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.  7And as she did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.  8Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou?  [A]nd why eatest thou not?  [A]nd why is thy heart grieved?  [A]m not I better to thee than ten sons?  9So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk.  Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.  10And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.  11And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if [T]hou wilt indeed look on the affliction of [T]hine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget [T]hine handmaid, but wilt give unto [T]hine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.  12And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.  13Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.  14And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken?  [P]ut away thy wine from thee.  15And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.  16Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.  17Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of [H]im.  18And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight.  So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.  19And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.  20Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.   2:20And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD.  And they went unto their own home.  2:21And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters.  And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
  44. Matthew 8:16When the even was come, they brought unto him [Jesus] many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17[t]hat it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
